The 13 Galactic Riders

The 13 Galactic Riders are inspired by the 13 galactic tones of creation by the mayas, which they used to describe and analyze the different cycles of life and time. The tones have 13 basic energies and are associated with different deities.

The antlers were a heritage of my grandfather who was a forester. They were believed to be lost after a house move, but were found back after exactly 13 years and there were exactly 13 of them.

13 is my lucky number and following me trough life (but this only on the side). I painted them with acrylic colors over a period of 6 month and also added beads, crystals, fabrics, leather and other materials. The process of creation is intuitive and the story unfolds step-by-step. The 13 Galactic Riders turned out to be a fusion of different cultural styles - ancient and modern. The roebuck stands for respect, responsibility and wisdom. He is the king of the forest and is on every continent at home. From him we learn to trust ourselves, listen to our hearts and as a totem he helps us to remember where we truly come from.
